We’re back with your latest field update from the Urban Sloth Project! From Deborah and baby Mel hiding out in a tree once loved by an old sloth we used to monitor, to Pistachio casually hanging just above a café roof, it’s been an eventful month in the canopy.

But before we invite you to read the latest stories, we want to celebrate Mother’s Day with a special gift.  This Sunday, May 11th, many countries worldwide will honor mothers, and we’d love to join in by sharing a beautiful illustration kindly donated by visual artist Manda Novokmet.

It’s a tender portrait of sloth motherhood, and we hope you’ll enjoy it as a wallpaper for your phone, computer, or even print it out and keep it close. Click the image to download!

Many thanks to Manda Novokmet for sharing her art with our community! If you like her style, you can follow more of her work on Instagram!

Now, let’s head back to the treetops and see what our sloths have been up to these past weeks:

Once again, thank you. Your support makes everything we do possible. Every sloth we track, every collar we recover, every baby we watch grow -it all happens because of you.

Thanks to your generosity, we’re learning more every day about how sloths navigate urban life, and how to keep them safe in a changing world.
