Last week, something truly extraordinary happened in the South Caribbean of Costa Rica: a three-fingered sloth baby with leucism was spotted! This is the first case ever recorded of its kind.

This lovely pair was discovered in the beautiful garden of a local resort.   The owner contacted Dr. Cliffe, founder and executive director of The Sloth Conservation Foundation.

Why are sloths so darn cute? Is it the little button eyes, the round, fuzzy head, or perhaps the adorable pink tongue? Whatever it is, there’s no denying it: sloths are so cute they just make your heart melt.
