A Little Update on Tango!
As you probably know by now, Tango has been recovering at the local rescue centre since we found him at the end of February, injured and clinging to the base of a tree in sewage water.
We’ve been sharing regular updates on his progress each week, but as his recovery has slowed, we wanted to take a moment to provide a clearer update on where things stand and thank you for your patience while things have been a little quiet on the tracking side.
In the video below, Dr.Cliffe talks through the situation in more detail.
Although Tango didn’t require surgery, his treatment did involve removing a significant amount of fur so his wounds could properly heal. For a sloth, this is more important than it might seem, as his fur plays a key role in protection and survival in the wild. Before he can be safely released and tracked again, we need to give his coat time to fully grow back.
The good news is that Tango is safe, receiving the care he needs, and continuing to make progress each day.
Thank you for sticking with Tango’s journey.
